This is the sole album from Lotus Crown, released during its initial promotion period.

Lotus Crown is a band newly formed in Chicago, USA, by Jimmy Shields, the younger brother of Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine. The year was 1997, a time when Midwest Emo was establishing itself as a significant local scene centered in Chicago, and their music shared a similar style with the local scene.

Personally, it evokes a feeling similar to bands like Built to Spill or 764-Hero. What makes this album special is the involvement of Dave Fridmann, a member of Mercury Rev and a producer/mixer at the peak of his abilities during that era.

As always, this has been a long-held personal collection. Though the band may not have widespread name recognition, it would be wonderful if a collector interested in the narrative and evolution of indie music could appreciate this piece.

케빈실즈의 동생인 지미실즈가 미국 시카고에서
새롭게 결성한 밴드입니다.
1997년이고 당시는 미드웨스트이모가 시카고를
중심으로 커다란 로컬씬으로 자리잡았던 시기라서
이들의 음악도 꽤나 로컬씬과 비슷한 스터일을 지니고
았습니다.
개인적으로는 빌투스필이나 764-hero와 흡사한 느낌입니다.
이올범이 특별한건 메큐리레브의 멤버이저 당시 프로듀서와 믹서로서 절정의 기량을 보여주었던 데이브프리드먼이 프로듀서로 참여했다는것입니다.

언제나 그렇듯 오랫동안 소장한 앨범이었고 비록
네임벨류는 적지만
인디의 서사나 흐름에 관심있는 매니아께서 알아봐주심
좋겠습니다.
