The Banner of Work (Banner der Arbeit) was an order of East Germany established on August 4, 1954, as a single class. It was awarded to individuals, work collectives, enterprises, combines, and other institutions in recognition of outstanding and long-term contributions to the strengthening and consolidation of the German Democratic Republic, particularly for achieving high labor results in the national economy.

This set includes the 3rd Class order, awarded to Horst Rosenberg, a Colonel in the East German Ministry for State Security (Stasi). The set comes complete with the medal itself, its original case, and the certificate.
