This vessel is crafted by filling the base with an oxidized copper pigment, leaving the pattern itself in white, and then firing it at high temperatures in a reducing flame after applying a transparent glaze.

Unlike the 'jelyangho' (提梁壺) where the handle spans across the body, this piece, known as 'jipho' (執壺), has a handle attached to one side. It is highly regarded as an excellent vessel that faithfully follows the traditional styles of the Yuan and early Ming dynasties, from its overall form to the decoration of each part (such as the dragon head ornaments at the top of the handle and the connection point between the spout and the body, and the cloud-shaped connecting piece installed to reinforce the spout), down to the detailed design.

Especially, the intricate carving of the patterns, which harmonizes with the elegant lines and horizontal multi-layered division from the lid through the body to the base (including the banana leaf pattern on the neck and the jewel surrounding the auspicious symbols on the shoulder), clearly showcases the dignity of this piece.

While the possibility of it being an imitation from the Yuan and Ming dynasties cannot be ruled out, its harmonious composition and high technical perfection will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the pleasure of appreciation along with its collection value.

손잡이가 몸통을 가로지르는 제량호(提梁壺)와 달리
한쪽으로 손잡이가 붙어 있어 집호(執壺)라 일컽는
이 기물은 전체적인 형태에서부터 각 부분의 장식
(손잡이 상단 및 출수관과 동부 연결 부위의 용두 장식,
출수구를 보강할 목적으로 설치한 운형(雲形) 연결재 등)은 물론
세부 도안에 이르기까지 원대에서 명대 초기의
전통 양식을 충실히 따른 훌륭한 기물로 평가 받고 있습니다.
특히 뚜껑에서 동부를 거쳐 굽에 이르기까지 유려한 선과
수평적 다층 분할에 어울리는 문양의 섬세한 조각은
(목부분의 파초엽문, 어깨부분의 길상문을 감싸는 보패,
등) 이 기물의 품격을 잘 보여준다 하겠습니다.
원명대 이후의 고방(古倣)일 가능성을 배제할 수 없으나
조화로움과 기술적 측면에서의 높은 완성도는
소장 가치와 더불어 감상의 즐거움에
흠뻑 빠질 수 있게 해줄 것입니다.
