This rare 4-disc CD set features 'Blorp Essete Vol. 1' (1977) and 'Blorp Essete Vol. 2' (1980), a compilation from the Los Angeles Free Music Society (L.A.F.M.S.).

L.A.F.M.S. was an experimental music collective formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1970s, known for their exploration of free improvisation, noise, tape music, musique concrète, and avant-garde soundscapes. A distinctive feature of their work was the use of self-made, DIY instruments.

Notable musicians associated with the collective include Smegma, Le Forte Four, Doors-Dooettes, Tom Recchon, Rick Potts, and Joe Potts. Their performances were characterized by improvised noise, tape collage, radio noise, metallic percussion, self-created instruments, and sound performances, creating a unique artistic output that bordered on experimental art compilations.
