조선 중후기 지방 가마(지방요)에서 물레 성형으로 빚어낸 백자 사발입니다. 이 기물의 가장 큰 장점은 세월이 무색할 정도로 너무나 잘 살아있는 유약 상태입니다. 은은한 광택과 맑은 유백색 빛깔이 전체적으로 훌륭하게 보존되어 있으며, 장작 가마 특유의 미세한 철점과 기포 흔적이 조선 백자만의 담백한 고태미를 더해줍니다. 굽 부분에는 투박한 막깎기 흔적과 함께 당시 대량 번조의 특징인 모래받침 흔적이 선명하게 남아있습니다.
