This is a live recording from 1954 featuring Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Brahms' Violin Sonata, and Vitali's Chaconne. Performed by Gioconda de Vito, conducted by Georg Ludwig Jochum, with RIAS Symphonie Orchester and piano accompaniment by Michael Raucheisen.

This release presents previously unreleased RIAS broadcast recordings from 1951 and 1954 by Gioconda de Vito. Despite retiring at age 54, de Vito left behind only about 30 recordings in her lifetime. Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms were her core repertoire, and she deeply regretted not being able to record Beethoven's Violin Concerto, a piece she excelled at. Fortunately, a live broadcast recording from 1954 preserves her performance.

The sound quality is excellent, allowing listeners to experience the mature and noble interpretation characteristic of de Vito. The dignified accompaniment by the RIAS Symphony Orchestra, led by Georg Ludwig Jochum, further enhances the violin performance.

The included Brahms Violin Sonata and Vitali Chaconne were also signature pieces in de Vito's repertoire. Her refined technique delivers an elegant performance. In the Chaconne, she plays with a rich bowing technique at a relaxed tempo, infusing each note with soul.
