[BUNJANG] Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Blue-and-White Bottle with Buddha's Hand Citron Motif / 조선백자청화불수감문호

This is a blue-and-white porcelain bottle featuring a Buddha's hand citron, a fruit said to resemble the fingers of Buddha, capable of granting all wishes.

Motifs commonly found on blue-and-white bottles like this include the pomegranate motif, wishing for many descendants, and the Seven Treasures motif, wishing for wealth and honor, as well as the peony motif.

There are minor kiln stresses on the shoulder of this vessel, which are shallow imperfections on the exterior. Please note that these are not considered defects in traditional Korean pottery (refer to photos).

There is also a small imperfection on the base, which is also not considered a defect.

Dimensions: Height approximately 21.5 cm, Rim Diameter 14.3 cm. This is a relatively large piece.

The condition is excellent, with no repairs and the glaze is intact.

소원하는 바를 다 들어주는 부처님의 손가락을 닮았다 하여
불수감(佛手柑)이라는 명칭을 지닌 열매를 그려 넣은
청화자기입니다.
자손번창을 기원하는 석류문, 부귀영화를 기원하는 칠보문과
모란문 등도 이런 형태의 청화 호에 주로 시문된 문양들입니다.
본 기물의 어깨 부분에는 미세한 가마유들이 있는데,
바깥 쪽에만 있는 얕은 흠이라 우리 도자기에서는 하자로
보지 않는다는 점을 말씀드립니다.(사진 참조)
굽에도 작은 흠이 있습니다만, 역시 하자로 보지 않는다고
하겠습니다.
크기는 높이 약 21.5, 입지름 14.3 cm으로 조금 큰 편에 속하고
상태는 유, 수리 없이 완전합니다.
