[BUNJANG] Han Dynasty Style Stone Carved Bird Head Handheld Lantern / 새머리자루삼족석질행등. 이벤트

This artifact is a long-handled lantern (Gosu-deung), a portable lighting device popular during the Han and Wei dynasties. It is made of multi-colored stone (granite/local jadeite) and is carved overall, divided into three structural parts.

Due to the undeveloped tools of the time, softer stones were used for carving, which have further weakened due to long-term weathering.

The handle is carved in the shape of a mythical bird (phoenix/eagle head) with a sharp beak and curved feathers, featuring simple and archaic lines. The long handle is flat, convenient for holding the light with one hand during movement. This type of beast/bird head long handle is archaeologically designated as a 'beast-handled street lamp'.

The lantern features a wide, shallow, disc-shaped body with an open top. In the center of the disc is a conical lead nozzle (lamp holder) with a small hole for inserting and securing a candle and wick. The internal space of the disc is designed to collect and prevent dripping wax or oil.

Three short, rounded legs are attached to the base of the disc, allowing it to stand stably on a flat surface. When held, the three legs are suspended in the air, not affecting its use, thus considering both dual functions of 'carrying while walking' and 'placing stationary'.

'Haengdeung' refers to ancient portable lighting tools, corresponding to modern flashlights. It was used to provide light when walking, accompanying individuals on night excursions, or illuminating studies during movement.

새머리자루삼족석질행등(고수등)
이 기물은 긴 손잡이 행등(손잡이 등)으로, 한나라와 위나라 시기에 유행한 휴대용 조명기구입니다. 재질은 잡색 석조(화강암/지방 연옥석)로, 전체적으로 조각되어 있으며, 세 가지 구조로 나뉩니다.고대에는 공구가 발전 되지 않아서 석 질이 강 질이 아니고 석질이 약한 걸로 조각 하였다고 봅니다.오래된 풍화로 석 질이 더 약해졌습니다. 
손잡이는 신조(봉황/독수리머리)의 모양을 조각하고 뾰족한 부리와 구부러진 깃을 가지고 있으며 선이 단순하고 고풍스러우며 긴 손잡이는 평평하여 한 손으로 이동 조명을 잡기에 편리하며 이러한 유형의 짐승 머리/새의 긴 손잡이는 고고학적으로 '짐승 손잡이 가로등'이라고 명명되었습니다.
넓고 가장자리가 넓은 열린 얕은 복부의 원반, 접시 중앙에 구멍이 뚫린 원추형 납(등주)이 있고 작은 구멍은 촛불과 심지를 삽입 및 고정하는 데 사용되며 접시 내부 공간은 떨어지는 왁스 기름과 기름을 받아 흘러내리는 것을 방지합니다.
접시 바닥에 3개의 짧은 둥근 젖족을 설치하여 책상 바닥에 안정적으로 놓습니다. 손에 들 때 세 발이 공중에 매달려 있어도 사용에 영향을 미치지 않으며, '손에 들고 걷기'와 '가만히 놓기'의 이중 기능을 모두 고려합니다.
"행등"은 고대 이동 조명 도구로, 현대의 손전등에 대응합니다.
