These Vietnamese coins were minted at the Philadelphia Mint in the US and circulated domestically. However, due to climate conditions and user inconvenience, coin circulation was unsuccessful. Production ceased after 2003, and coins gradually disappeared from circulation. Currently, only banknotes are used.
