André Courrèges (1923-2016) initially studied civil engineering at his father's suggestion and served as an Air Force pilot, but his passion for art led him to pivot to the fashion industry. After working as an apprentice under Cristóbal Balenciaga for about 10 years starting in 1948, he established his own haute couture house in Paris in 1961 with his partner, Coqueline Barrière.

앙드레 꾸레쥬(1923~2016)는 처음에는 아버지의 권유로 토목 공학을 전공하고 공군 조종사로 복무했으나 예술에 대한 열망으로 패션계로 전향했고, 1948년부터 약 10년간 크리스토발 발렌시아가(Cristóbal Balenciaga) 밑에서 도제로 일을 하다가 1961년, 그는 연인인 코클린 바리에르(Coqueline Barrière)와 함께 자신의 이름을 건 오트 쿠튀르 하우스를 파리에 설립했습니다.
