This is a Celadon Pomegranate Ewer crafted by master potter Donggok Yu Chun Bong.

This distinctive shape is rarely seen due to its intricate production process and is famously held in national museum collections.

Master Yu Chun Bong is a traditional artisan who has inherited the lineage of pottery making in the Gochang region of Jeonbuk for three generations. He is currently operating Donggok Kiln, dedicated to recreating 'Gosujagi,' a traditional pottery characterized by its profound and weighty blue hues.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, the first kiln master Yu Gil Sang, and his father, the second kiln master Yu Ha Sang, he has protected Donggok Kiln for the third generation, devoting over 45 years to the creation of traditional pottery.

He crafts items such as Celadon, Buncheong ware, and white porcelain, all inspired by the beauty of Goryeo Celadon. He is recognized as a 'Korea Arts and Culture Master' certified by the Korea Arts and Culture Organization Federation.

This specific piece was commissioned by Kim Won Seop, the former president of Jeonbuk National University, and was created as a modern historical ceramic piece to be presented to a select few individuals, adding to its rarity and value.

The overall jade-green glaze imparts a sophisticated elegance. The design, resembling a pomegranate, is enhanced by both the raised and sunken relief carvings of the fruit.
