깃먼이 자기 이름을 단 건 1978년. 그 전까지 이 애슐랜드 공장은 브룩스 브라더스, 랄프 로렌, 폴 스튜어트 같은 미국 남성복 명가들의 셔츠를 대신 짓던 곳이었습니다. 랄프 로렌이 70년대 여성용 셔츠를 디자인하러 직접 찾아왔을 정도로요. 남의 라벨을 박아주던 손이 어느 날 자기 이름을 단 셈이라, 만듦새의 밑천이 다릅니다. 셔츠 한 장에 패턴 조각 25개, 50공정 — 1978년 라벨을 지금 그대로 복각해 쓰는 빈티지 라인이고요. 2020년 88년 된 애슐랜드 공장은 끝내 문을 닫았지만, 테네시로 옮겨 전량 미국 생산을 이어가는 몇 안 남은 셔츠 메이커입니다.
