Crafted using the *Maki-e* technique, where gold powder is applied to a lacquered surface to create intricate patterns, this box showcases delicate floral motifs on its lacquered exterior. It was traditionally used as a stationery box (*Bunbako*) for storing writing materials or as a general storage container for various small items.
