**Artist Biography (Unbo Kim Ki-Chang):**
* **1914:** Born in Unni-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
* **1930:** Studied under Master Kim Eun-ho.
* **1955-1961:** Professor at Hongik University, College of Fine Arts.
* **1962-1974:** Professor at Sookmyung Women's University.
* **1969:** Vice Chairman of the National Art Exhibition Judging Committee.
* **1973:** Appointed Advisor to the Korean Fine Arts Association and member of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Steering Committee.
* **1979-2001:** Founding Chairman of the Korea Association for the Welfare of the Deaf.
* **1981:** Appointed Full Member of the Korea Arts & Culture Grand Prix.
* **1987:** Received the Saekdong Association Grand Prize (10th).
* **1988:** Awarded honorary doctorate from Sejong University.
* **1989:** Selected as the most preferred Korean painter in the MBC-TV viewer art survey.
* **1991:** Received the Inchon Prize (Public Sector). Selected as a featured artist for the 10th anniversary of the 100th anniversary of the Olympic Games print and commemorative production.
* **1996:** Received the 2nd Ui-je Heo Baek-ryun Art Award.
* **1999:** Selected as one of Korea's outstanding artists of the 20th century by the Korean Art Critics Association.
* **2001:** Passed away on January 23rd. Awarded the Geumgwan Order of Cultural Merit.
