This scroll features a portrait and calligraphy by Yan Zhenqing, a renowned calligrapher from China's Tang Dynasty. The upper section displays a portrait of Yan Zhenqing, while the lower section contains a large calligraphic work wishing good fortune and blessings. The bold brushstrokes on a yellow background, combined with numerous seals, showcase the traditional elegance of scholar-official painting and calligraphy.

Yan Zhenqing is regarded as a symbol of loyalty and integrity, and is one of the most significant figures in Chinese calligraphy history, alongside Wang Xizhi. Based on the flow of the brushstrokes, ink tone, and seal impressions, the calligraphy and seals on this work appear to be created in a later period.
