Shin Jung-hyeon and the Gong-bi Collection (Korean Vintage)

Considered the pioneer of Korean Rock, the first-generation band Shin Jung-hyeon and the Gong-bi Collection carved a significant place in popular music history by reinterpreting Anglo-American psychedelic and hard rock with unique Korean 5-note scales and distinct grooves.

However, the military dictatorship at the time attempted to halt their activities due to concerns over attire and decadence. Ultimately, due to a marijuana scandal in 1975, all of the Gong-bi Collection's songs were banned, bringing their three-year career to an end.

This is a vintage t-shirt featuring the cover art of Shin Jung-hyeon and the Gong-bi Collection's first album. While its origin is unclear, it gained attention about a decade ago when Jang Ki-ha and the Faces wore unofficial t-shirts with Shin Jung-hyeon and the Gong-bi Collection prints on stage.

‘한국의 Rock'을 창시한 것으로 평가받는 1세대 밴드 <신중현과 엽전들>은 영미권의 사이키델릭·하드 록을 한국적인 5음계 가락과 독특한 그루브로 재해석하여 대중음악사에 획을 그었습니다.

그러나 당시 군사독재 정권은 복장 불량과 퇴폐를 문제로 삼아 활동을 중지시키려 하였으며, 결국 1975년도 대마초 파동으로 엽전들의 모든 곡이 금지되며 3년의 활동을 끝으로 막을 내렸습니다.

신중현과 엽전들의 1집 커버가 담긴 빈티지 티셔츠입니다. 출처는 불분명하지만 10년 전 무렵 장기하와 얼굴들이 신중현과 엽전들의 프린트가 담긴 비공식 티셔츠를 착용하고 무대에 올라 화제가 된 바 있습니다.
