[BUNJANG] Antique Korean Brass Sinseollo (Royal Court Food Warmer) / 오래된 백동 신선로

An exquisite antique Sinseollo, estimated to have been crafted during the late Joseon Dynasty (late 19th century) to the early modern period (early 20th century). This piece was likely used in noble households, royal courts, or for banquets among the upper class.

Crafted using traditional Joseon-era techniques, the lid features intricately engraved motifs resembling southern city gates (like Pungnammun or Sungnyemun) with a scenic mountain and water background. The body is adorned with auspicious characters for longevity, fortune, health, and peace (壽 福 康 寧), executed in an engraved technique characteristic of late Joseon brassware.

Clear signs of use from over 100 years ago are evident. Made from a white brass alloy rather than standard brass, this Sinseollo boasts elaborate engraving on the lid and body, remarkably preserved in near-original condition. Natural patina and signs of wear commensurate with its age add to its historical authenticity. The soldered handle (shaped like a butterfly or cloud) confirms its 100% authenticity.

조선말기(19세기후반)~근대초기(20세기초)에 제작되어 당시 양반가나 궁중, 또는 상류층 연회용으로 실제 사용되었던걸로 추정되는 골동품급 기물백동 신선로.
조선시대 전통방식으로 제작되었으며,
뚜껑에는 정교하게 음가된 남문방식(풍남문이나 숭례문 성문모양)과 산수를 그린듯한 배경, 몸통에는 대표적인 길상문 壽 福 康 寧 의 자형과 조각기법으로 보아 구한말 백동기물에만 보이는 음각임.
100여년전에 실제 사용된 흔적이 뚜렷하고
놋쇠가 아닌 백동계열의 재질에 뚜껑과 몸통의 화려한 음각이거의 최초상태를 유지하고있으며, 세월의 흐름에 따른 자연스런 산화(파티나)의 생활흔적. 손잡이(나비 또는 구름 모양)의 땜질흔적이 100% 진품임.
