Description

A small, exquisite porcelain tea bowl featuring ancient Indian Sanskrit mantras inscribed on both the interior and exterior.

During the Ming and Qing dynasties in China, influenced by Buddhism and Taoism, sacred mantras like 'Om' were frequently inscribed on vessels. These inscriptions were believed to bring good fortune and ward off evil spirits, symbolizing auspiciousness and protection. This practice was commonly applied to tea bowls and ritual implements.

작고 아담한 도자기 안팎에 시문된 고대 인도의 범어 (산스크리트어) 진언 잔입니다.
중국 명.청대에는 불교와 도교의 영향으로 기물에 옴자를 비롯한 신성한 주문을 적어 복을 빌고 재앙을 물리치는 벽사(辟邪)와 길상(吉祥)의 의미로 찻잔이나 공양구에 범자를 많이 그려 넣었습니다.
