This metal keychain commemorates the spirit of Hanseo Namgung Eok (1863-1939), a prominent figure in the independence and enlightenment movement who established churches and schools and promoted the national flower, the mugunghwa (hibiscus), in Hongcheon during the Japanese colonial period.

The keychain is a memorial item from the 3rd Hanseo Festival held in Hongcheon in 1979.
