About Ilta Seunim:

He passed away in Hawaii on December 29, 1999. He served as a senior monk in the Jogye Order and was described by writer Jeong Chan-ju as embodying compassion and spiritual discipline akin to Guanyin Bodhisattva.

1929년9월2일 공주 출생
1942년 공주 공립 보통학교 졸하고 양산 통도사 출가
1954년 오대산 적멸보궁에서 장좌불외와 매일3000배씩 일주일간 기도 정진 들어간후 오른손 4손가락 12마디를 연비 했다(12마디에 불을 붙여 태웠다)그후 각설하고 1999년12월29일
하와이 와불산 금강굴 에서 입적 하셨다.
그해 12월5일 은해사에서 영결식과 다비식 거행
조계종 전계 대화상을 역임
작가 정찬주가 관세음보살 같은 분이라 표현 할 정도로 자비심과 수행력을 겸비한 인물 이라 한다
