This piece is identified as an Earthenware Water Ewer (Joseongbyeong), dating back to the Goryeo Dynasty. While it may resemble a common household pitcher, its distinctive features suggest it served as a Buddhist ritual vessel (Jeongbyeong). The elongated neck, handle-like shape, and spout placement closely align with the typical form of a Jeongbyeong.

Unlike the more ornate celadon or bronze versions, this earthenware ewer was crafted from fired clay for practical use in everyday monastic life. The unique design, featuring an egg-shaped body with a long neck and an unusually placed spout below the shoulder, is captivating and grows more appealing with closer inspection.

"토제정병"으로 작품명을 정한 이유는 당시 일반적인
민가의 주자로 보일수도 있겠으나~
설명자의 견해는 불교 공양구인 정병(淨甁).토기정병
으로 보입니댜
긴 목의 손잡이 형태와 출수구의 위치를 비교해 보면
일반적 정병淨甁 형태에 더 근접해 보이는 모습이
아닐까? 그런 생각이 듭니다
청동이나 청자로 만든 화려한 정병도 있지만,일반 사찰
의 생활 속에서 쓰기 위해 진흙을 구워 만든 정병도
다수 제작되었습니다
달걀 모양의 몸통에 긴 목이 달린 모양과 어깨 아래
아래로 배출되는 출수구의 이색적인 독특한 디자인
이 볼수록 매럭적입니다
상태는 퍼펙트 할 만큼~똘망 똘망한 하며 기울임 없이
자세도 좋습니다
옥(玉)의 티 가 있다면 목 윗부분 주구(첨대)의 구연부
에 깨알크기 상처가 있습니다
천년의 고미술품의 흠결로 보실지는 모르겠으나~
상단 위에서 바라보면 보이지 않는 위치이며 측면의
옆으로 조금보입니다
