[BUNJANG] Baekpo Kwak Nam-bae Pomegranate and Sparrow Korean Painting / 동양화 한국화의 대가 백포 곽남배 석류의 참새

This is a painting of a pomegranate and sparrows by the master of Korean painting, Baekpo Kwak Nam-bae.

Featuring delicate and vibrant colors, the sparrows and pomegranate are impressively depicted, and the condition is excellent.

The painting captures a bursting, ripe pomegranate and was created in the spring of 2001.

Baekpo Kwak Nam-bae (1929-2004) was a master Korean painter from Jindo, South Jeolla Province. He broke away from the traditional Naju painting style to uniquely pioneer minimalist, lyrical Korean landscapes and true-view landscapes, often depicting scenes like thatched huts and campfire bonfires. He served as a judge for the Grand National Art Exhibition of Korea.

백포 곽남배( 1929~2004) 선생은 전남 진도 출신의 한국화 대가입니다. 남도 전통 화풍에서 벗어나 원두막 모닥불 등 소박하고 서정적인 한국적 풍경과 실경산수화를 독자적으로 개척한 거목으로 대한민국 미술대전 심사위원 등을 역임했습니다.
