[Official Notice] Comprehensive Guide to Prohibited & Restricted Items for International Shipping

Date: January 1, 2026 Subject: Important Safety Regulations and Shipping Restrictions (Must Read)

Dear Valued Customers,

To ensure the safe and timely delivery of your packages, Hallyu4u enforces strict shipping regulations in compliance with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Korean Customs Law.

Please review the detailed list of prohibited items below before placing any orders. Items found to be in violation during our warehouse inspection process will be automatically discarded or returned at the customer's expense.

🚫 1. Absolute Prohibited Items (Cannot be shipped under any circumstances)

These items are classified as "Dangerous Goods" by airlines and cannot be exported. If these items arrive at our warehouse, they will be disposed of immediately with a disposal fee charged to your account.

  • Loose Lithium Batteries: Power banks, spare phone batteries, and loose batteries not installed inside a device.

  • Pressurized Aerosols: Hairspray, mist mists, shaving cream, butane gas, spray paint, or any canned air products.

  • Flammable Liquids: Perfumes (Eau de Parfum/Toilette), nail polish, nail polish remover, diffusers with liquid, and alcohol sanitizers (over 60% alcohol).

  • Explosives & Weapons: Firecrackers, matches, lighter fluid, replica guns, swords, and tactical knives.

⚠️ 2. Restricted Items (Shippable with strict conditions)

These items are allowed only if they meet specific criteria. Failure to meet these conditions will result in the removal of the item from your package.

  • Electronics with Built-in Batteries:

    • Allowed ONLY if the battery is installed inside the device (e.g., Light sticks, MP3 players, Wireless earbuds).

    • Limit: Maximum 2 devices per package.

    • Condition: The battery capacity must not exceed 100Wh.

  • Liquids (Non-Flammable):

    • Shampoo, toner, lotion, and drinks are allowed.

    • Condition: Must be securely packed to prevent leakage. If a bottle contains alcohol (e.g., some toners), it must be below 24% ABV.

  • Food & Supplements:

    • Allowed generally, but meat products (beef jerky, sausages, curry with meat chunks) are strictly prohibited by most destination countries (especially USA/Europe).

    • Fresh fruits, vegetables, and seeds are prohibited.

📦 3. Warehouse Handling Policy for Prohibited Items

If a prohibited item is detected during the "Inspection & Repacking" service:

  1. Notification: We will send an urgent "Problem Report" to your dashboard.

  2. Resolution Options:

    • Discard: We will dispose of the item (Disposal Fee: $3.00 USD).

    • Return to Seller: We can return the item to the Korean seller if they accept returns (Handling Fee: $3.00 USD + Domestic Shipping Cost).

    • Split Shipping: If the item is only restricted in your country but allowed in another, we can separate it into a new warehouse slot.

📝 4. Customer Responsibility Disclaimer

  • Customs Clearance: Hallyu4u is responsible for export from Korea. The customer is fully responsible for import clearance in their destination country.

  • Confiscation: We are not liable for compensation if a package is confiscated by your country's customs due to restricted contents (e.g., ordering unauthorized medication or excessive quantities of food).
