He completed his Ph.D. at Chinese Culture University in 1974.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eHe began his academic career as an associate professor of Chinese philosophy at Chinese Culture University in 1968, and later became a professor in the Department of Philosophy at Korea University in 1970, where he served until 1996. His extensive scholarship encompassed Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism, significantly contributing to the advancement of Eastern philosophy studies in Korea.
